The Keough Memorial Academy began in 1989 as an alternative school for students who were not making adequate progress in a traditional general educational setting. We continue that mission to this day.  Our goal is to help students become successful and productive members of society by coupling high academic rigor and a focus on each student’s strengths to ensure a truly individualized educational experience. Keough Memorial Academy graduates have met all MCAS, NECAP, and credit requirements for a Massachusetts or Rhode Island High School Diploma in hopes that they may continue on with their post secondary education.

Keough Memorial Academy is committed to providing high academic rigor in a trauma sensitive learning environment. Our faculty is comprised of highly qualified, dual certified teachers who are not only masters of their content, but are skilled in differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of all students. The academics are delivered in tandem with social and emotional supports provided by our clinical staff. As part of each student’s goal, all students develop a transition plan with the hope of accessing postsecondary educational or vocational opportunities.

All Keough Memorial Academy graduates have met all MCAS, NECAP, and credit requirements for a Massachusetts or Rhode Island High School Diploma.
